i love louis theroux. his documentaries are always amazing, but this one about the most hated family in america was just incredible. those poor brainwashed kids..

ohsnapsusie:

I love everything about this video, regardless of your opinion.

one of the most incredible movements in today’s society. <3

I remember how everything bad in middle/high school felt like the end of the world.

I can say it really truly & honestly does get better.

lol so can we talk about how in every bible and catechism class I have ever had to take

we were taught about how David and Jonathan were ~best bros~

when this was

obviously

not the case

#that time there was a gay couple in the bible and nobody talked about it ever

I used these quotes in my catholic high school’s speech class when I argued for gay rights and I thought the teacher was going to faint. I got a standing ovation.. just not from her. :)

A soldier calls his father shortly after DADT is repealed.

Rereblogging just because this is so lovely <3 it makes me so happy to see this.

I saw this video on the news the other day and I almost cried. I’m being 100% serious. I’m a heterosexual male and I’ve never had to deal with hiding who I am from my family (outside of being an atheist, but I never hid it too much). I can’t even imagine what this poor kid felt like for all those years not being sure if he could tell his father who he really was without losing his dad’s love. It truly moved me and I was literally overjoyed when his dad told him that he’d always love him and always be proud of him. I like to think my parents would’ve felt the same way if I were a homosexual; I’m quite confident they would.

holy crap.

the westboro baptist church (those religious freaks that picket the funerals of american soldieirs and hold the “God hates fags” signs are coming to picket a showing of “The Laramie Project” (Matthew Shepard’s story) in my town.

The police said they’re going to arrest them if they even step a foot on the town property.

THOUSANDS of people are going to picket them.

I don’t think they understand what kind of town Nyack is. You do not mess with us. Its a very artsy (mini New York City-like) town. Tons of gay rights parades are held here every year and we do not tolerate this kind of nonsense.

I’ll let you guys know what happens. I’m going with my ‘Legalize Gay Marriage’ shirt and my camera.

To all of the bigots in the world: READ UP. Educate yourselves. Stop spreading ignorance and lies. And maybe, just maybe, the world would be a better place for ALL of us.
To all of the advocates in the world: READ UP. Educate yourselves as well. ‘Know thy enemies’. Take action. Fight for your rights. And spread the word. Repeat.
